There are many things you have to watch while taking real estate photographs. The easiest way is to hire a professional because even if you try your best, you just can't get the same results because of lack of professional equipment, experience and a good eye. However, there are still some things you can fix yourself so I hope this article helps :-)

Falling houses

  • Level your tripod and your camera while taking pictures
  • Keep all vertical lines (walls) straight (check in your camera)
  • Take photos in RAW to make necessary transformations in editing software

Rounded photos

  • Don’t use fish-eye lens
  • The best results are reached with full frame DSLR camera and wide lens.

Worthless photos

  • take just the most important photos (exterior front and back yard, kitchen a living area, bedrooms, garage, hallway if nice
  • don't take photos that doesn't tell nothing or can scare potential buyers away
  • use photos that take an attention and home buyers will schedule the appointment to see it all

Bad angle

  • take photos from the entrance, from the kitchen (from the natural viewer's position)

Too dark rooms

  • use higher exposure
  • take more exposures (at least 3) and use HDR post processing to get even lightening
  • hire professional :-)
